The share of Android smartphones in Russia exceeded 70 per cent - the Russian newspaper

According to Dmitry Ryabinin, chief analyst of publication, more than 50 percent of buyers in Russia prefer smartphones on Android. The growth of the market share of Google’s mobile platform has been achieved by reducing the price of the device, he said. “If it will improve the autonomy of the operating system, then the growth will continue. Serious competitors now Android is not” – said Riabinin.

Moreover, among the most popular versions of Android is Gingerbread 2.3 – it is installed on 45.9 percent of Russian Android-smartphone. Second place goes to Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 (36.2 percent), third – Jelly Bean (15 percent).

According to analysts polled publication, further increase the share of Android is not so rapid – within a few percent.
