At the last annual meeting of shareholders investors have criticized the policy of the head of Nokia Stephen Elop, regarding his decision in 2011 to produce smartphones on the platform from Microsoft, which, in their opinion, does not allow the once-mighty Finnish giant to compete with Apple and Samsung in the smartphone market.

Despite the transition from Nokia’s own Symbian software platform for Windows Phone and the increase in sales of smartphones in the Nokia Lumia Windows Phone 8 operating system that was not enough to compete with Apple and Samsung. Thus, according to reports, in the first quarter of 2013, Nokia sold 5.6 million smartphones Lumia, which was a total of less than 5 percent of the market, while Apple and Samsung control more than 50 percent of the smartphone market in the niche.
