ComTech: iOS Android has overtaken the US market – 3DNews

How successful were the sale of Apple iPhone and iPhone 6 6 Plus in the US, can be judged by the results of the analytical research company Kantar Worldpanel ComTech. In the fourth quarter of 2014 in the US market surpassed iOS operating system Android.

The difference between the two competitors just tiny, one might say, within the error. If the share of iOS accounted for 47.7%, the Android has covered 47.6% of the market. Yet this momentous event. After all, the last time was in the lead iOS only in the fourth quarter of 2012. Other participants of the race, as usual, far behind. The share of the operating system Windows Phone was only 3,8%, BlackBerry has managed to grab only 0.3%. The remaining players are divided between 0.6% of the market.

Second position in this ranking took Samsung Galaxy S5. As for brand loyalty, Apple is leading in Europe and the United States with an index of 87%. Samsung follows it with the index 62%.

Despite the success in the US, iOS Android continues to yield a global scale. In Europe, the share of Android-smartphone amounted to 66.1%. And in China, the OS has covered 77% of the market.
