Sony has developed a “simplified” version of Android – Vesti.Hi-tech – BBC News

The company Sony is developing a new version of the mobile operating system of Google, which has a “simplistic, classic design and interface perception of Android”. Soon the new shell will come to the stage of closed beta. Maybe then it will be installed on all Android-production of the Japanese manufacturer.

The first “lightweight” Android from Sony will be able to experience the 500 selected owners of models Xperia Z3 Sweden submitted an application on its website. The test period during which Sony will catch bugs and collect feedback, will last from July 27 to September 13.

The working name of the new user interface – Concept for Android (“Concept for Android”). Shell, based on Android 5.1 (Lollipop), will have “features and applications Sony, which we consider the most popular among our customers”.

How the company intends to simplify the “OSes” Google, is not specified. Whether it would be a modern version of Android, devoid of frills and animation Material Design, or a kind of firmware Cyanogen, it is still unknown.
