Dolphin emulator run on NVIDIA Shield Android TV – 3DNews

Developers emulator Dolphin announces the launch and operation of its application on the gaming console NVIDIA Shield Android TV, running the operating system Android. As evidence of the creators of the program have published a video showing a few games that were running at the Shield in Dolphin. In particular, in the video you can see the gameplay Gamecube-versions of Resident Evil 2 and Ikaruga, exclusives Luigi’s Mansion and Super Smash Bros. Melee, and several other games released on the Gamecube and Wii. As can be seen in the video games are working properly, and the authors hope to add Dolphin Android-version of the emulator support as many titles.

Recall that the first version of the Dolphin appeared in 2003 as an experimental game console emulator Nintendo Gamecube, with which it was possible to run commercial games for consoles this on the PC. Version of the time characterized by high system requirements, lack of sound emulation, low productivity in most games, and early termination of the application. Release version 1.1 appeared in 2004, and in 2008, Dolphin becomes an open source project, in the same year it was added emulation of Nintendo Wii. The program currently running on the PC with the operating system Windows XP or higher, or Linux. There is also a version for the Mac OS X version is not lower than 10.6.

The first version of Dolphin for Android has appeared in 2013, but then it did not show good results. Now, judging by the video, in development there has been significant progress, and perhaps in the not too distant future we will receive an updated version of the emulator, with which it is possible to run a lot of games for the Gamecube and Wii on devices running the operating system Android.
