Word, Excel and PowerPoint available for free for Android-smartphone – BBC News

Microsoft has posted on the Google Play full-featured mobile version of their Office programs Word, Excel and PowerPoint for Android-smartphone. The basic functions of a text editor, spreadsheet and presentation applications available free of charge.

Recall for Android-plates three most popular Microsoft Office applications became available in January. However, the development of their peers, with whom it would be possible to work comfortably even on the small screen of your smartphone, took nearly six months. Applications are available for smartphones with version Android 4.4 (KitKat) and above (except do not yet support the latest Android M). In addition, the amount of memory should be at least 1 GB.

According to the Microsoft Kirk Kengisbauera, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 1900 tested different models of Android-smartphone in 83 countries.

In Microsoft tried to make the application maximally familiar to users of desktop versions of Office. Documents are opened and displayed on the screen of the smartphone lossless format, in the same form in which a computer-generated. Many options and menu items are delivered in “tape”, but, unlike the desktop and tablet versions, it is located at the bottom of the screen. It is easier to reach the right buttons with the thumb.

Word, Excel and PowerPoint for Android works in conjunction with popular cloud services, including not only OneDrive and SharePoint from Microsoft, and third-party Google Drive, Box and Dropbox. Easily create and edit documents available for new applications for free, you just log in with your account Microsoft. However, access to all the functions required subscription to Office 365.

Note that Word, Excel and PowerPoint – are not the only Microsoft application platform Android.
