The store Google Play is available an updated version of the Benchmark 3DMark Android Edition. Most of the innovations – small optimization, but a change in the test Ice Storm Extreme should address the details, because it does affect the test results.

3DMark Ice Storm Extreme, like the Ice Storm, consists of three tests: two graphics created to assess the capacity of GPU, and the test of physics to change the performance of CPU. Ice Storm renders the resolution to 720p. Ice Storm Extreme for stronger pressure on schedule increases the rendering resolution up to 1080p. However, the developers have noticed that increasing the resolution affects the results of testing physics devices with a weak GPU.

Therefore

updating test physics Ice Storm Extreme now runs in 720p resolution with a view to reducing the influence of the GPU. On devices with powerful graphics, this should not affect the points Ice Storm Extreme, and the decisions of the weak GPU scores should go up a bit. However, the developers recommend the test in Ice Storm Extreme only those devices that are able to perform a standard benchmark Ice Storm Extreme with a frequency of more than 40 frames per second.

Among other changes in 3DMark Android Edition 1.0.2-1109 output model can be mentioned in the details of the processor unit, fast loading images in the Device Channel, improved scalability, bandwidth results, reduced to 149 MB capacity and improved application compatibility.

3DMark is also available on Windows-based systems, and soon the promised output versions for Apple iOS and Windows RT. The resulting scores can be compared between different platforms.
