Google has announced the regular statistics on the percentage distribution of different versions of the Android operating system by the end of April. For the first time the number of devices with your version of Android Jelly Bean (4.1 and 4.2) was higher than the number of devices on the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. For Google, a mobile operating system that is known for a high degree of fragmentation, this should be good news in anticipation of the release version of Android 4.3 in the near future.

In April, the share of Android 4.2 has increased by 3.4% and now stands at 28.4%. This increase was largely due to the decline in the share version 4.0 to 1.8% to 27.5%. These, as usual, taken on the basis of the analysis of the devices from which users visit the store online applications Google Play.

When compared with rates two months ago, the share of the most modern in the current version of Android has grown even more impressive. In early March, it was only 16.5%. Given the popularity of the smartphone Samsung Galaxy S III and the beginning of sales version 4 can be assumed that the long-time leader – version of Android 2.3. Gingerbread, released in December 2010 – will finally toppled from the summit. While its share is 38.5% vs. 44.1% two months ago and more than 50% at the end of last year.
