AMD eyeing the Android and Chrome OS - 3DNews

AMD can do the design of processors, designed to work with operating systems Android and Chrome OS. This was during the Computex 2013 announced Vice President Lisa Su (Lisa Su).


AMD stated that it is interested in using its chips in Android-powered devices. However, the rapid spread of the mobile platform seems to have forced the company to change their mind.

According to Ms. Su, AMD is committed operating systems Windows (especially Windows 8), but also sees the market prospects for Android and Chrome OS. However, these platforms, according to the instructor for AMD, suitable for devices “entry-level” – tablets and low-cost laptops.

AMD is already working with software developers on the creation of Android-apps for its processors.
