Samsung announced the release of an update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow for Galaxy S6 and S6 edge – Ferra

Samsung Electronics has officially announced the release of a firmware update to the latest version of Android 6.0 Marshmallow smartphone Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge. The update starts to spread today, February 15, 2016, on an international scale. As promised manufacturer, the update for the Galaxy and other devices should appear.


Let’s remind, last week the Polish operator T-Mobile has started to distribute the update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow for Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge. It should be noted that Poland is usually becomes the first country outside of South Korea, where Samsung is starting to distribute important firmware updates for their devices.

At the end of January, Samsung released an update Galaxy S6 and S6 edge to Android Marshmallow in their native South Korean market . And immediately update includes Android 6.0.1 version. The release took place after a period of beta testing. At the end of December 2015 Samsung has launched in South Korea beta program firmware with Android 6.0 Marshmallow for Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, and a little later a similar program earned in the UK.

According to unofficial information, the smartphone Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge + must also be updated in February. In March and April should come the turn of Galaxy S5, Note 4 and Note Edge.
