Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will be updated immediately to Android 7.1.1 Nougat – Ferra

Apparently, Samsung will release the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge update immediately to Android 7.1.1 Nougat, avoiding the need to Android 7.0. This was reported by the specialized portal SamMobile, citing a message on the XDA forums.

This step was confirmed by a Samsung spokesperson in response to the request of the participant beta Galaxy Beta Program. Recall, Samsung Electronics has launched a beta program Beta Program Galaxy update Android 7.0 Nougat for Galaxy S7 Galaxy S7 edge in USA, China, UK and South Korea.

Android 7.1.1 is a small update with new emojis support sending GIF-OK directly from the keyboard in supported apps such as Google Allo, Google Messenger, and Hangouts, as well as shortcuts to individual functions of applications for quick launch directly from the home screen.
