Google introduced the Android platform Things for the Internet of things – Ferra

Google has presented its new development — the Android platform Things for the Internet of things. Currently released version of the preview for developers Things Android Developer Preview that allows you to create IoT products using the tools of the Android APIs and Google services, as well as the ability to receive security updates directly from Google.

the Android Platform Things originates in the Brilo Project, taking into account feedback, including requests for the inclusion of tools such as Android Studio, the Android SDK, Google Play Services and Google Cloud Platform. Part of the ecosystem has also become a function Weave, presented in Brilo and enabling devices in the smart home and smart phones to communicate with each other directly without using an intermediate cloud.

Weave already used in the devices of the smart home Philips Hue and SmartThings, Samsung, and companies such as Belkin WeMo, LiFX, Honeywell, Wink, TP-Link, First Alert is now implementing it.

Google also introduced Android Things for Intel Edison, NXP Pico and Raspberry Pi 3, to wishing it was easier to start developing their products.
